This electronic memo from Graham Dane just crossed my desk:

GD> Hi, everyone! GD> GD> Greetings from sunny Edinburgh (the "sunny" is a lie, by the way. GD> It's freezing here at the moment.

Welcome, and "Hi" from Bryan, Texas, where it IS sunny at the moment, but that's subject to change hourly (last week's temps. ranged from the lower 80s (F) to near freezing).

I'm going to post my absolute favorite chocolate thing. However, it just dawned on me that it requires a mix which might not be available to you. If this is the case, please write back, and I'll dig up a scratch version for the base -- it's not difficult to make.

Brownie Pie (10 servings) 1 fudge-type brownie mix (this is a dense, chewey bar-type cookie with nuts) made according to package directions.

Grease a 9-inch pie tin, and pour the brownie mix in the pie tin. Bake according to package directions.

Remove the brownie pie from the oven, cool slightly and cut into 10 wedges (the wedges seem small, but this is RICH. Top each wedge with a scoop of ice cream, a spoonful or two of lightly sweetened whipped cream, and drizzle with chocolate syrup. Serve immediately.

Any unused pie may be wrapped air-tight, and re-heated later.
